With very special thanks to Daniel Summers we present our re-imagining of his illusion "The Deathdrop"
A menacing rack of spikes fill the interior of a small box. The Illusionist raises the rack of spikes allowing them to hang over the box. Your assistant enters the tiny enclosure. The front and back doors are closed. She extends her hand out of a hole in the front panel to recieve a silk.
The magic moment comes when the Illusionist pulls the release, allowing the rack of spikes to drop, plunging into the box seemingly impaling her!
The magic continues as you reach for the silk, and her hand withdraws inside. Instantly, the spikes continue to fall through the box and visibly penetrate the thin table! The rack no sooner slams on the table than the front door open automatically revealing that she has vanished!
The doors are closed and she makes her reappearance resting comfortably on top of the rack!
It’s a spectacular illusion that looks very dangerous but isn’t (your assistant is safely protected in her hiding space, she controls the final drop and those “razor sharp” spikes actually have soft rubber tips), is practical and portable (it fits through a doorway and can be performed 360 degree surrounded) and really delivers punchy moments throughout the routine - from the loud ratchet as the spikes are raised to the woosh and rumble as the spikes come crashing down, your audience will FEEL this illusion just as much as they see it.
Completely re-engineered from the ground up this is a practical, portable, safe illusion that can be performed just about anywhere yet packs down into ONE flightcase.
Price includes flightcase (150x88x85cm approx) and rights payment to Daniel and each buyer will need to be approved by Daniel.
